The Trebbiano grape variety has very old origins, which place it in the area between the provinces of Verona, Brescia and Mantua. The cultivars of the Trebbiano family have been well known in Italy since Roman times. Their name derives from Trebula, meaning “farm” (Pliny the Elder describes a Vinum Trebulanum that, according to this interpretation, would mean “country vine” or “farmhouse wine”).
This grape variety seems to share the same gene pool as Verdicchio Bianco, although it distinguishes itself in terms of aroma thanks to its freshness and perfumes.
